Thinking Inside the (Cardboard) Box Challenge
Students recently took on a fun and practical design challenge, bringing a miniature kitchen to life using both digital tools and recycled materials.
Students recently took on a fun and practical design challenge, bringing a miniature kitchen to life using both digital tools and recycled materials.
The project began with measuring and analysing a 1:10 scale diorama. Students then used CAD modelling software to plan and build their own kitchen designs in 3D.
Next, working in teams of 3-4, students selected one design or combined elements from each member to create a final concept. Using waste cardboard and other recycled materials, they constructed scaled kitchen miniatures, carefully planning and assigning tasks as a team. This hands-on project was a fun way for students to apply their planning, design, and teamwork skills while exploring sustainable construction practices.
