Earlier this week, students completed registration and attended workshops on Employability Services and Industry Engagement, Life in New Zealand, and Academic Success. The Academic Success workshop introduced students to our experiential learning environment and showed them how to use artificial intelligence ethically and responsibly.

Students returned to campus today for our formal orientation event. During the morning session, ICT Manager Sonny Teio welcomed students with a karakia t墨matanga, mihimihi, and an overview of our campus values.

Group Chief Executive Sam Alavi then addressed students, who are joining us from nine different countries. He told them that staff across the campus are passionate about education and committed to helping students succeed.

He congratulated students on the courage it takes to move to a new country and said that while there may be challenges, support is always available.

鈥淭here will be challenges, but you鈥檙e courageous, and we鈥檙e here to help.鈥

He said the organisation鈥檚 vision is to develop the country鈥檚 most employable graduates, and that everything at AIC is designed to prepare students for today鈥檚 and tomorrow鈥檚 workforce.

He also spoke about M膩ori culture as a unique and important part of New Zealand, noting the country鈥檚 strong respect for its indigenous culture and language. He encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about Aotearoa New Zealand鈥檚 indigenous history.

This morning鈥檚 session also included introductions to AIC staff teams, followed by a campus tour led by Student Mentors.

Today, students are also attending an IT induction, an insurance presentation, an employability introduction, and an academic orientation.
