Kim鈥檚 qualifications include a Master of Creative Writing, a National Diploma in Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts (English), and a Bachelor of Science (Ecology). She鈥檚 completed shorter courses in photography, videography, social media, mental health, research ethics, bicultural competency, and graphic design.
Kim has nearly 15 years of professional experience as a writer and communicator. She鈥檚 been part of the Otago Polytechnic team since the beginning of 2018. Prior to that, she worked for daily newspapers throughout the country. She specialised as a court and police reporter for much of her journalism career.
Outside of work, Kim is a keen cricketer and football player. She鈥檚 also an active creative writer, with more than 30 publications in literary journals in New Zealand and overseas, including poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction.
