Maria has been teaching and researching in the university sector for over 30 years, most of them at Waikato Management School, but also at several other universities.
One of her most interesting teaching contracts was at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, where she taught International Human Resource Management to 膩konga (learners) in postgraduate and MBA classes. Her students came from more than ten different European language groups. Experiential learning was their pedagogical approach, and she loved it. Her pedagogical hero is Paulo Freire.
Maria鈥檚 teaching and research areas span a number of disciplines, from core management subjects to specialist courses in research methods. Her focus is on qualitative (interpretive) methods.
Her goal is to strengthen capacity to grow curiosity as the vehicle for learning and to enhance critical thinking to explore observations, impressions, and attitudes.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys gardening and sharing in the lives and loves of her family.
