An Indonesian creative with a background in photography and videography, is pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in business to realise his goal of launching a production house.
Aurelius Vincent has previously completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree in design. He worked as a photographer and videographer for six years, progressing into a director of photography role.
鈥淚 had to oversee everything, from pre-production planning up until the post-production phase,鈥 he says.
His long-term goal is to start his own production house, and he realised the best way to achieve it was by gaining a solid understanding of the business world.
鈥淚 read about job trends in 2024, and they're mostly business or data analytics. Therefore, I decided to learn how to become a business analyst, and then start building my own company.鈥
So, Vincent decided to enrol in a Master of Applied Management with us, specialising in Business Information Systems.
He鈥檚 enjoying our experiential learning methods because he鈥檚 the type of person who doesn鈥檛 like to sit down for long periods. Vincent was able to adjust quickly to our hands-on approach to learning.
鈥淲hen I was studying as a product design student, I often worked in groups because our projects were large-scale, so I had already experienced things such as group discussions.鈥
He thinks having the opportunity to discuss things with classmates is the best way to learn.
鈥淔or me, it is essential to have others' perspectives.鈥
Vincent says that sort of teamwork is particularly important for roles such as business analysts, project managers, and marketing officers.
His advice to fellow students is to connect with one another.
鈥淢y best advice would be to talk to others. Students might get some insights unexpectedly during a coffee meeting with their friends which might be helpful for their paper.鈥
